The massive 25-inch blade was discovered in Camden, north London during a sweep by police officers and community group, Camden Against Violence. Taking place last night in Queen’s Crescent, it took just 15 minutes for the group to find the horrifying blade. Speaking to Express.co.uk, one of the members of Camden Against Violence, Terry Ellis, admitted he was at once happy to have discovered such a terrifying weapon but also shocked by the current state of the problem in the area. Worryingly, the large blade was discovered next to a children’s playground and in the heart of a residential area. In Camden alone where Mr Ellis is based, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead by police after being found with stab injuries in Kentish Town. In a sign of the current predicament facing many across the country, Mr Ellis admitted that due to the pressures on the police, “we’re the ones” having to police our community. To try and combat the problem, Home Secretary Sajid Javid recently bolstered stop and search powers for the police in order to combat the problem.
